Opening my second gym has been a dream come true. Every day I get the opportunity to live out my passion in my neighborhood with my family and friends. I do not take it for granted for a second. It's a chaotic roller coaster starting a new business, and I'm constantly brainstorming ideas about how to make the gym successful.

People always ask—Why boxing?

Boxing is for absolutely anyone, all shapes and sizes, and all walks of life. It is the best form of functional fitness for men AND women. It perfectly balances cardio and resistance training while engaging the whole body.

Not only are you gaining physical benefits but it also challenges you mentally. Remembering a combination, thinking quickly on your feet, and using the right technique are just a few things we work on in class. This sport requires skill and mental proficiency as well as physical fitness.

Boxing is also the ultimate way to relieve stress. It's not every day someone allows you to punch the sh*t out of something...and punching your boss is frowned upon (in most cases). So bring all your stresses into the gym and leave it all in the ring. You'll walk out with your head held a little higher and ready to take on the day.

I have loved these first few weeks at the new gym. I see a bright future ahead and I hope to empower the community the way boxing has done for myself.
